Is it the idea of the artist or the soul of the wood that designs these pieces of stunning warm household items? That is the question I ask myself with each piece. From the simplest coaster to a large table, which is it? I like to think it is a bit of both. As an artist I’m able to look at the wood and find what it wants to be on its next step of its journey. From taking a 100’s year old Douglas Fir made into floor joists for a building and then recycled them into a dining room table or finding a log and listening to its story and giving it another stage in its life.
